Minimum Essential Coverage

With the introduction of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, those employers who meet the ALE criteria are required to offer at least Minimum Essential Coverage to their employees to avoid IRS penalties.

These plans are the perfect strategy for employers focused on cost containment, usable daily benefits and compliance with ACA mandates. The plans outlined below are compliant with Employer Penalty “A” as outlined by ACA. They also satisfy the individual mandate penalty in applicable states.
The Employer Mandate (Penalty B)

Employers must offer a minimum value plan that meets 60% actuarial value including hospitalization services. The MVP plan must be offered at a maximum contribution of 9.96% of the employee’s income - YOU pay the difference. Non-Compliance could result in a penalty of $5,010.00/employee or $417.50 a month who enrolls in coverage through the state exchange AND receives a premium subsidy in 2026.

The Individual Mandate

For most Americans, the individual mandate is no longer applicable. Eligible employees living in California*, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Vermont are still subject to the individual mandate.
